Meganthropus Palaeojavanicus


 In 1889 a Dutch geologist named BD van Rietschoten found a human skull in Wajak area, near Tulungagung (East Java). The findings were then sent to his friend by the name of Dr. Eguene Dubois in the Netherlands.  
 

Dubois was interested in objects that shipment. He came to Indonesia, and find fossils Sandpipers near Ngawi (East Java). The first fossils were found was a skull and jawbone. A year later he found the left femur of the fossils. Once reconstructed, the fossils body height was estimated to be between 165-180 cm. And these findings are named Meganthropus palaeojavanicus

  1. In my history book,that picture is not Megantropus,but its Pithecantropus erectus picture.
    Is it true?Or maybe my book is wrong?
